First Blog Post

As a member of the LGBTQA+ community, I realize that in the world today, we are still not considered equal. We have come a long way in obtaining rights, but we still have a ways to go. We are still considered outsiders, and freaks. Children are still growing up believing that being different is wrong. Gay couples cannot walk down the street holding hands, without the fear of someone causing a problem, or even worse, causing them harm. In Russia for example, homosexuals are being tortured and beaten on a regular basis. Many people are still hiding in that infamous closet, because they are terrified of not being accepted. LGBTQA+ youth still have one of the highest rates of suicide. My goal is to create awareness on this topic. The insanity needs to end. All people need to be considered equal, and I can only hope that putting my voice out there will make a difference.

  1. Your voice is already making a difference Hayley! There are still so many changes that needed to happen, but this can be a road to so many of them - just make sure you are heard.
