In a recent interview with Davis (which you can watch below!) she has said, "I've been called Hitler, a hypocrite, and a homophobe." If you don't want to be called a hypocrite, and a homophobe, here's some advice.
DON'T BE A HOMOPHOBE AND A HYPOCRITE!!
It really is that simple. You cannot refuse to allow same-sex couples to marry, without being a homophobe. You don't like gay people. That is how you feel. And as much as you may not like it, disliking gay people is what makes you a homophobe. Also, if you don't want to be considered a hypocrite, follow what the Bible says. ALL of it. Not just the parts that make you believe you have the right to hate homosexuals. You also have to follow when it says that you should not get divorced (especially more than once!), and you should not have children while you are not married! Kim Davis, if you don't think that these things make you a hypocrite, there's just no hope.
While Kim Davis initially refused to issue the licenses, it did not just end there. After being released, she has continued to refuse to sign any same-sex licenses, and she even went back and manipulated licenses that had already been given out, removing all of the important information, including her name, and the name of the county. This could seriously alter the validity of these licenses, again making it even harder for these couples to get married.
In the interview, Davis also commented on the couple who, "finally felt human" when they were allowed to get their license. She followed up by saying, “I don't think dignity is guaranteed in the Constitution. I think dignity is something that you find within yourself. I feel really sad that … someone could be so unhappy with themselves as a person that they did not feel dignified as a human being until they got a piece of paper. I mean, there's just so much more to life than that.”
First of all, a marriage license is so much more than a piece of paper, especially for gay people. Up until recently, we could not have it. And if it is so insignificant to you (which you've already proved considering you've had four) then what is the big deal in letting us have it? Why does it effect you? Why do you get to have it, but we don't? Gay couples aren't doing anything to hurt you. All they want is that piece of paper, so they can finally be recognized by the law as a couple. That's it. I really don't think it's that much to ask.
