Do You Think I Chose to be Gay?

 

Recently presidential candidate Ben Carson had an exchange during a town hall meeting, in which he was questioned about whether or not he thought being gay was a choice.

 

An attendee of the meeting simply asked, "Do you think I chose to be gay?" To which he replied, "That's a long conversation," as he smiled and posed for a photograph.

 

Ben Carson has been known in the past to claim that homosexuality is a choice, and he often uses prison as an example saying that people "go into prison straight, and come out gay." Below is a video in which he discusses this.

 

 

He also has previously said that transgender people should have their own bathrooms because they "make everybody else uncomfortable."

 

Okay, I just have to say this. Being gay is absolutely not a choice. Why in the world would someone ever "choose" to be gay? Do you think that people would choose to be discriminated against, and to be looked down on? To have to fight for their rights, while straight people are just handed them? If you think that people would choose this lifestyle, than you are insane.

 

People are born the way they are, and nothing you do will ever  change that.
